Not quite a TLR challenge response.
Another of Geoff Chaplin’s challenges got me thinking about a particular image of mine. This was similar to his building against the sky image but mine had a more modest protagonist, a simple street lamp.
I took this during a visit to Akaroa on Banks Penninsula, here on the South Island of New Zealand. Not only did the Dutch and the Brits explore this part of the world, France had also made several visits to the newly discovered country with a number of place names having French origins. Akaroa is not one of them despite being established originally by the French. It has many French names around the township and residents also hold a commemoration of the French landing and generally celebrate their French heritage.
This ‘one shot’ was made with a Fuji S2 Pro and a Nikon 24-120 zoom, the original version without stabilisation. It is a scan of the print I made for the postal portfolio group I belonged to at the time.
Geoff’s image had a sky which could be seen as various emanations but I don’t think this one has that quality but you never know.

I see a somewhat painful face at the very top of the frame!
