5 Frames with a Leica M6 and Pro Image 100 – By Greg May

By Greg May

Oh hey another Leica M6… let us not worry about that too much. Enough has been said. The feeling. The simplicity. The expense. Either way, it was a camera I bought myself to document the expansion of our family when our daughter was born just over two years ago. Now, it goes with us when we go out allowing me to take photos of our time together. Several lenses, not all of them Leica. Such is life.

Summer has finally come to the Calder Valley and with that the traditional summer events take place. One of them, the Handmade Parade in Hebden Bridge, is a celebration at the end of Arts Week. A series of make and do workshops throughout the week have people from all over town preparing for whatever theme has been selected for the year. Slightly different to the normal village fêtes that happen in most of the hill towns. This years theme was “Once Upon a Time…..” with our nursery dressing up as rabbits. Fun for all the family. Unless you are two, in which case it was utterly terrifying at first.

That large rabbit statue puts me in mine of both Cersei Lannister and Watership Down. No wonder a two-year old was terrified at first
