A new film photography event is happening this weekend in Atlanta, Georgia, USA hosted by KEH Camera, The Darkroom Lab, and Beers and Cameras. They have dubbed the weekend event, “FILMSTOCK” and it’s sure to be a fun-filled analogue extravaganza with special guests, meetups, and photowalks.
This Friday and Saturday, October 6th and 7th, analogue enthusiasts will descend upon Atlanta. The event is free to attend but registration is required in advance. There will also be several special guests making the trip including Matt Day, Sissi Lu, Mike Gray, Taylor Pendleton, Paul Baldonado, Beatriz Valim, Jason Kummerfeldt, Caleb Knueven, and Jonathan Paragas, among others.
“We are thrilled to co-host “Filmstock: The analog photography meetup” with our friends at The Darkroom Lab,” said Noah Treshnell, CEO at KEH Camera. “This event is a celebration of the enduring allure of film photography. It’s a chance for photographers to come together, learn from each other, and capture the beauty of Atlanta through the lens of analog cameras.”
Beers and Cameras will be kicking it off on Friday at 7 p.m. in West Midtown at Monday Night Brewing. The meetup aims to create a relaxed and friendly atmosphere where film enthusiasts can connect and share ideas. The hosts will also return Saturday night, but this time at Brewdog in Midtown.
On Saturday morning, KEH and the Darkroom Lab will be leading a photowalk through Atlanta’s Beltline Trail in Midtown, exploring the city’s unique landscape.
The event hosts share a commitment to creating spaces where the photography/analogue community can come together and share their passion, making them a great team to host such an event. KEH Camera sells new and used camera gear for all levels of photographers and has done so since 1979. The Darkroom Lab offers high-quality film processing, scanning, and printing services, opened in 1976. Beers and Cameras has been running frequent meetups for photographers that involve local breweries with a decent selection of indie beers and they have several chapters across the US and even one in London! They also have a non-alcoholic meetup group called Brews and Cameras for folks who would rather share their love of photography over coffee.
