NEWS: Jagglé Berlinova – Live on Kickstarter!

By Hamish Gill

You might remember a little while ago Wicher shared this article about his forthcoming Jagglé daylight enlarger – well, if you liked the sound of it, today is finally the day you can put your money where you mouth is and back it on Kickstarter

Jagglé is a actually a relatively new company in the analogue photography community and this Berlinova is the first major product to come from the brand. The company has already launched an INSTAX to 4×5 adapter set, as well as 4×5 self developing cassettes. The cassettes are in the process of being manufactured and the adapters are available for purchase right now off the website here. As a company, it is their goals are to bring products like these to the market with high manufacturing quality, sensible price points and that offer something new to the market place. The new Jagglé Berlinova print system strikes me as a pretty solid example of those goals!

The Jagglé Berlinova is ideal for those who live in a tight space and are not ready to to commit to a complete darkroom. It might also appeal to those who travel or move around a lot and wish to print on the go. The system is aimed at those who have limited darkroom experience and are excited to get started printing their own analogue photographs

For this project Jagglé has also developed a 50mm f/4.0 Tessar budget yet high performance enlarger lens. This lens will be available both as part of the enlarger kit as well as individually for use in legacy enlargers.

The initial release of the system only offers the possibility to print 35mm negatives to 4x6in or 10x15cm paper. An upgrade to print to 5x7in or 13x18cm paper has already been developed and will be offered as a stretch goal if the Kickstarter is successful.

The Jagglé Berlinova is now live on Kickstarter here with a funding goal of €80.000.
