Churning out new lenses like hotcakes, TTArtisan brings us a full-frame manual-focus 100mm F2.8 2X Ultra Macro option today with tilt, shift, and rotational capabilities. Nikon Z, Sony E, Fuji X, and Canon RF users can look forward to enjoying this 14-element lens on their camera bodies. TTArtisan says the lens is suitable for a variety of genres including product, advertising, portrait, and of course, macro.
The 100mm F2.8 is constructed of ten groupings housing fourteen elements. Six of these elements are designed to be highly refractive for distortion and spherical aberration control. It has a 24-degree field of view, a 67mm filter size, and the minimum focusing distance is a close 0.25 meters which enables a macro reproduction ratio of 2:1. The 12-blade circular aperture can be changed with a clicked ring and ranges from F2.8 to F22.
With the ability to tilt +/- 8 degrees and shift +/- 6mm in addition to rotating +/- 90 degrees, the lens affords photographers unique control over focal planes in their images. Each setting can be adjusted independently.
These capabilities allow a non-parallel plane of focus for a higher clarity of the subject without reducing the aperture. The lens can be also adjusted to avoid mirror reflections with reflective subjects.
Vignetting will be present on full-frame sensors but TTArtisan says this depends on how much the lens is adjusted. They note no vignetting will be seen on the X-mount and M43 sensors.
A cold shoe attachment sits on top of the lens so photographers can mount an LED light or other accessories.
Available now to purchase globally from Amazon or Pergear directly, the lens is cheapest at Pergear, currently retailing at USD 389 or GBP 319. On Amazon, the lens is listed at USD 419 or GBP 344. See the links here for the Nikon Z, Canon RF, Sony E, and Fuji X Mount (non-affiliate).
