I do enjoy seeing these rundowns considering the amount of time I spend on this site. Thanks Hamish and the contributors who keep this informative archive to photography going.

Interesting to think on your closing comment that it's simply a sign of high cost times we've entered, making us re-evaluate how much film we get through, but I prefer to think it's a hankering for visual identity that's unique and no longer on camera companies minds. No question by the numbers it's all improved, but then when is this hobby so easily pigeon holed that bigger is best.

A nice selection of interesting reads Hamish. Thanks for this summary. I really enjoyed reading them and was taken by the Zeiss Ikonta story as well as the DIY 6x9 camera. Hats off to the picture of the Rolleiflex 6*** as there's a Quad 33/303 amplifier set in the background. The Contax and Leica articles were a refreshing read as they were down to the ground.
I can't pick a favourite as they all share the same vibe which is in harmony with your Blog. Superb and heartfelt
