Ryan McCarthy is a native of California and resided on the central coast of California for the last decade prior to moving to the Sierras in 2018. His photography covers a broad spectrum of styles and content, ranging from documentary and street, to landscape and portraiture. Ryan’s work is heavily influenced by life and culture of the region and inspired by his love of nature and the beauty that is the West. Ryan works in all photographic mediums but works primarily in analog formats including historic and alternative processes. Ryan has earned Associate Degrees in Fire Technology, Art Photography, Liberal Arts and Sciences, and a Historic and Alternative Photographic Processes Skills Certificate amongst others. Ryan is currently pursuing a Bachelor’s of Art of Interdisciplinary Studies in Outdoor Adventure Leadership and Art. Ryan hopes to one day teach art and photography.
